Gary Frey
Partner, BGW CPA, Co-Host Anything But Typical Podcast & Author, Silence The Imposter
Gary is a connector, “MacGyver,” and confidant for CEOs plus co-host of the Anything but Typical Podcast featuring vulnerable stories of ripple-making entrepreneurs. He’s been president of four successful companies, including Bizjournals.com, a business news portal – growing it from three people to a $100 million company. He’s done two turnarounds and led in two Fortune 100 companies. He leads business coaching and development for a regional CPA firm serving privately held businesses. He does a Murph workout every Monday (Google it!), is a triathlete, drummer, father of two grown sons, “Papa” to four grandkids and married for over 39 years.
He is the Author of “Silence the Imposter.” While Imposter Syndrome has likely been plaguing people for hundreds
(if not thousands) of years, the term was first coined in the 1970s by two female psychologists who attributed this condition primarily to high-achieving women. Since then, it’s become apparent that imposter syndrome isn’t limited to women. Chances are, EVERYONE who has walked this earth has experienced that inner voice whisper, “You’re in over your head. If they only knew ‘X’ about you… You aren’t THAT good – you’ve just been lucky. You’ve got to outwork everyone else — just to keep up. You’re a fraud.” If you’ve ever heard any of those questions (or similar variations on those themes) rattle around in your head, Gary Frey has found SEVEN weapons that effectively silence the imposter.
